What is my plan for the coal industry?
Inject millions of dollars in educational research. To have NASA oversee mining operations with an eye towards developing practical equipment for mining/excavating on mars.
Using living miners to guide deesign and development and having the communities that supported the mines support the schools that will learn from the mines and the miners we can continue supporting coal country while finding alternative uses for coal.
Again, my thought, diamonds for reinforcning lightweight construction materials for space travel.
