No P in the TSD

With THE files dropping.
Or at least some of them.
Comes the...reporting.

Now, don't get me wrong.

There is good, solid, factual reporting happening around those files.
responsible professionals and researchers giving stark descriptions.
But after giving a suitable warning about the coming statement and enough preamble to give someone the opportunity to change the channel or scroll away

 But alongside that

People posting absolutely heinous statements about what they "found" in the files with no warning on it.

Just watching a silly cat video, to a news report, to a dad joke to...

"They were molesting children on stage Infront of people"  and providing detailed descriptions of that.

Most of the people doing good reporting on what they're finding in the files say ahead of time, and give plenty of scroll away time before they even start hinting at details like that.

But then there's people that drop that shit in the first 2 seconds hoping to get a visceral reaction out of you.

I want to punch the people in the face that pull that shit.

Because :
There's now way to verify what out of context bit they're showing is factual because of that initial reaction of recoil and disgust, and often the follow up is speculation, or just making jokes.

Any survivor of abuse that get's smacked across the face with a video like that is going to get hard triggered into a PTSD response.,

Being "Triggered" isn't an emotional response.
It's not about being a delicate snowflake or what the fuck ever.

It's a survival response.

It has a similar effect/brain imaging as a seizure.

But instead of the nervous system being overloaded by a storm of erroneous input;

The body is flooded by adrenaline, the brain making the body relive any similar trauma they experienced forcing the body to Fight, Flight, or Freeze.

And depending on the person or situation that can be vary dangerous for anyone in the vicinity.

And, on top of that, after the adrenaline leaves.
Either immediately or later.
 Your body just crashes.

That's why people faint.

Because they've no experience, or lack the physiology to handle the blood being rushed to extremities so swiftly and suddenly.

That surge of adrenaline and rush of blood will make the body stay or run to the absolute limits of it's capabilities.

The surge can be so strong it's not uncommon to tear muscles and break ones own bones because of adrenaline fueled actions.

Like a mother lifting a car off of their child.

So yeah.

To those of you out there reporting ethically and responsibly.
Thank you.

To those of you not...

To those of you like me.
Take a deep breath.
Let the adrenaline pump.
Your hands will shake, your legs will feel rubbery for an instance.
And maybe even when you take your first step or two be a little careful that your knees don't buckle.
but keep moving, breath, and your body will adjust to the adrenaline and your mind will clear.
Then find something to do with the adrenaline.
And be ready to crash hard because your body has been running beyond it's maximum capacity for as long as the adrenaline is in your system.

You'll often see me checking the pulse on my neck before speaking or acting.
it's because I'm waiting for the surge to pass and my heart beat to hit a regular rhythm again before speaking or acting.
Because one of the few times I let the adrenaline take control and acted without letting the surge pass...
I broke/cracked a 4x4 support beam with a single strike.

And had to deal with the pain of hair line fractures all through my hand and wrist for weeks after.

Because when the adrenaline is surging the heart is pumping as hard and as fast as it is capable.
And your brain is experiencing a similar lack of oxygen and flooding of blood to that of someone experiencing High G drag (again, why some people pass out).

Those initial moments of adrenaline a body will act on pure lizard brain.

That's what hyper vigilance is.
The body constantly keeping drip fed with adrenaline thinking it needs to defend it's self at all times.
Waking with those surges because the sleeping mind registered a sound, or a smell, or a presence (the weight and heat of a body near it) that wasn't there before.

So...yeah.

Long and short of it.
Protect your peace when you can, be prepared for when you can't, and offer understanding and empathy always.
